OUR CLASSES

Our classes are the most cost-effective way to train with us at Lakeshore Fitness + Health. The group setting provides a fun, welcoming, and professional environment for training. Progress through the periodized exercise programs with the support and coaching from your peers and our trainers.

A typical fitness path that clients take here at Lakeshore Fitness + Health is to start with 1-on-1 training or in a small group to get coached up to a level where you would thrive and experience optimal training benefits in a larger group setting.

Our “Leave No Person Guessing” mentality provides our clients with instructions and defined objectives and appropriate advice for each exercise in the hope of mastery by the client.

Specific class packages include membership for its duration. For example, a 24-session class package will consist of a 3-month membership to the gym. Although the membership in specific class packages may time out, the classes will have up to one year to complete.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Our personal training services is designed to take you through specific, progressive, and periodized exercise programs that focuses on improving all aspects of your fitness, injury rehabilitation and prevention, all to meet and exceed the physical demands of your everyday life, recreation, and sport.

Further, our aim is to coach our clients to a point of mastery with exercise techniques and to achieve a level of fitness that surpasses the standards set out by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology.

Private sessions have proven to accelerate the learning curve, because coaching and feed back is more direct and constant for clients. It is common practice for our clients to train individually, with a partner, or in small groups, and then transfer in to a class when they feel they have reached a confident level of competency.

to private small groups, and various classes that are scheduled throughout the week.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Free gym access with package

The purpose of this class is to introduce clients to the basics of weight training and conditioning to improve aspects of their fitness. This includes anaerobic capacity, strength and power development of your upper and lower body, speed development, coordination, and range of motion in movement. In other words, you will learn, master, and progress from more straightforward to more complex exercises to improve your physical ability and health. As your body adapts to the training demands of these programs, you may experience less chronic pains/aches from everyday life, less shortness of breath, improved and injury-free physical performance in your work, and recreation/sport.

SPIN & CORE

Free gym access with package

The purpose of this class is to increase our client’s anaerobic capacity (ability to work at higher heart rates for a shorter duration) and to strengthen their core. Varying interval training on spin bikes and specific core exercises are the tools used to achieve this classes’ objectives. Improvements in our clients’s anaerobic capacity and core strength will be determined by a lower resting heart rate, better Wingate performance, improved mCAFT score, and a longer pain-free time. This class is for anyone at any fitness level.

Calorie Burn & Mobility

Free gym access with package

The purpose of this class is to “burn” a significant amount of energy so that the net caloric balance (energy in versus energy out) is negative, in order to decrease the percentage of body fat and for an overall improvement of body composition (greater percentage of lean mass and a smaller percentage of fat mass).
